Hello. I’m Krista Hughes.

Higher ed has been my world for over three decades. I specialize in coaching higher education professionals who believe in the mission of higher ed but who find their sense of calling dimmed by current demands. Budget cuts. Expanded workloads. Increased mental health challenges among students. A global pandemic. The rise of AI with implications for pedagogy.

It is a lot to navigate and to carry.

You may wonder if working in higher ed is compatible with personal vitality anymore. Let’s imagine together what that could look like for you. We will take a deep breath, map your current resources and challenges, and a design a path forward that is supple, sustainable, and uniquely yours.

Personal coaching is not a cure-all. It will not magically solve the industry’s challenges and dysfunctions. However, it can renew, empower, and help sustain those professionals who are committed to the mission of higher ed. That is my goal.

“Through our coaching relationship, I was able to clarify and untangle some key thoughts and emotions related to my work world. With Krista's support, I took tangible steps toward making the changes I need to live a more balanced life.”

— Kim K.

“I worked with Krista during a moment of my life that was full of professional upheaval and transition. Her consistent, steady guidance meant that this incredibly stressful time became manageable and, indeed, meaningful.”

— Kathleen

“Krista is a gifted coach. She creates a space where it is easy to go deep within without being overwhelmed. Her questions are probing yet not intrusive.”

— Carole C.
